Ultrahaptics Appoints Steve Cliffe as Chief Executive Officer
BRISTOL, UK — Steve Cliffe has been named as the new CEO of ultrasonic free-space haptics technology company Ultrahaptics.
His appointment follows the closure of Ultrahaptics' £660,000 seed-round investment in October 2014.
Cliffe has more than 25 years experience in the electronics industry with significant exposure to global markets. He joins Ultrahaptics from Plessey Semiconductors where he was business development director. Cliffe was previously CEO of Provision Communications, CEO of Xintronix, vice president of sales and marketing at eoSemi and sales director at Dialog Semiconductor.
“Ultrahaptics has developed a unique technology that will revolutionize the gaming, automotive and gesture markets by enabling the user to ‘feel’ virtual objects and receive tactile feedback in mid-air," Cliffe said. "This is a truly exciting time to join Ultrahaptics with the company having strong demand for its evaluation systems, particularly from the automotive sector. I’m looking forward to driving the company’s development and growth."
“We are delighted to have Steve lead the Ultrahaptics team. His experience in developing growing businesses and taking products to market will drive new levels of customer engagement and revenue growth making Ultrahaptics a world leading supplier of haptics technologies," said Ultrahaptics CTO and co-founder Tom Carter.
Ultrahaptics will feature in Eureka Park at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January. They will be in booth #75619, Tech West, Sands Convention Centre.
