Association Report: CEA Creates Tech Enthusiast Member Category
Tech enthusiasts will have the ability to beta test new products before they’re released, helping companies with product design and implementation.
I have been with the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) for more than 25 years. As president and CEO, I’ve had the unique opportunity to see many new and innovative technologies before they hit the market. Whether it’s at the International CES or in meeting with one of CEA’s 2,000 member companies, I am privileged to see tomorrow’s technology today.
But now, others can have a similar opportunity to get inside information on the latest technologies. For the first time, CEA has created a membership category for individuals. It’s all part of the new CEA Tech Enthusiast (TE) membership category. As a CEA TE member, consumers receive benefits such as online discounts, beta testing opportunities and industry information, making them feel like a true VIP in our industry.
If you are a CEA member company, I invite you to become a CEA Tech Enthusiast membership corporate partner. As a TE membership corporate partner, you will have the ability to promote your company’s products or services to a targeted audience of tech-savvy individuals, with future opportunities to gain access to this membership for focus groups, marketing, product testing and more. TE membership corporate partners will benefit from the chance to create a diversified revenue stream, as well as the opportunity to engage consumers for the purposes of education and feedback on products and industry initiatives. All CEA members are eligible to become partners at no charge. We understand partner offers may vary, so we look forward to developing a flexible benefits package that works for you.
Whether or not you work for a CEA member company, you can sign up for an individual CEA TE membership at CEAtechenthusiast.com. The members-only website allows TE members to link their Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and GDGT (www.gdgt.com) accounts to create new connections with peers who share similar interests.
The website also gives members access to specially designed content and industry information. We provide the members with access to CEA publications, podcasts and exclusive original content, all designed specifically for the early adopter.
I know that many early adopters are the first ones on their blocks to own certain technologies. Tech enthusiasts will have the ability to beta test new products before they’re released, helping companies with product design and implementation. Members also will have exclusive opportunities to buy the newest products before the general public, access to special offers and product deals.
Early technology adopters and fervent supporters of the innovative consumer electronics products are a vital part of growing our industry. Tech enthusiasts’ passion, expertise and love of electronics will help inform CEA and our member companies on everything from products to programs to public policy efforts.
