Maytag.com Introduces Personalized, Online Appliance Shopping
"Online home appliance shopping doesn't get any easier than this." That's what Maytag says consumers will say after their first online appliance shopping experience at Maytag.com. This site takes users from researching a Maytag product to the option of purchasing it -- without leaving the comfort of their homes.
"Maytag Appliances is the first appliance manufacturer that brings the cutting-edge cart-to-cart online shopping experience to consumers," said Ken Boyle, vice president of eCommerce at Maytag Appliances. "With online shopping becoming increasingly accessible and popular because of its convenience, Maytag.com has taken the extra step beyond other appliance manufacturers and partnered with its retailers to make an appliance purchase a one-stop shopping experience."
Since its launch in 1995, Maytag.com has continually evolved to provide consumers with the ultimate web site experience. This makeover is in sync with exactly what consumers say they want -- a simple way to research and buy an appliance that eliminates the footwork. As soon as users log onto Maytag.com, they can use innovative tools such as Appliance Finder, which makes online purchase recommendations based on a questionnaire. The Appliance Finder provides information and purchasing counsel based on the user's specific lifestyle. Consumers can then purchase an appliance by placing it into their shopping "cart."
Once a product is in the cart, the consumer is guided to a local zip code search that will help them select a dealer in their area. While on Maytag.com, they also receive real-time pricing and availability information from the selected retailer. At this time, the consumer also can view any special dealer promotions (i.e., product rebates, dealer incentives, etc.). Then the cart is "wheeled" over to the chosen dealer to determine payment method and for delivery and installation details.
Presently, more than 1,500 dealers are wired for cart-to-cart functionality through the Maytag.com site. With cart-to-cart shopping, consumers can steer their shopping cart on Maytag.com without leaving home -- better yet, the site -- to get exactly what they need.
Cart-to-cart will enhance the relationship with retailers while at the same time make appliance shopping fuss-free for consumers.
