China RoHS Voluntary Certification on Road to Launch

March 01, 2012

In May 2010, the Chinese government announced their intention to establish a certification scheme for China RoHS. Most recently, the Implementation Rules of Voluntary Certification on the Pollution Control of Electronic Information Products was adopted on 26 August and entered into law on Nov. 1, 2011. After publishing its authorized certification body and testing laboratories list, China's RoHS Voluntary Certification is estimated to be officially launched in the first half of 2012. As soon as the voluntary scheme is established, European export companies may well be asked by Chinese buyers to provide their Chinese approved RoHS certificate.
