What is it?
Excellence in Design is an annual design competition created by Appliance Design magazine to honor those designers who have excelled in meeting the modern challenge of harmoniously melding technology and industrial design.
Who judges the entries?
An independent panel of industrial design experts will perform the judging.
What are the judging criteria?
Evaluation of the entries will be based on four criteria: appearance, human factors, innovation and technical merits.
Who should enter?
The competition is open to OEMs and industrial design firms. International entrants are welcome. Eligible products span a wide range of technology segments.
Why should they enter?
Products achieving recognition in the program will be appear in the June 2010 issue of Appliance Design in its print, digital, and online versions. OEMs who receive an award earn industry recognition and can promote the honor in their marketing programs. Industrial design firms receiving an award can utilize the honor to build their business.
