Norton Hot Surface Igniters
Norton Igniter Products began manufacturing hot surface ceramic igniters over 20 years ago. Since then, Norton has developed a complete family of hot surface igniters. In 1990, the company introduced its Mini-Igniter (TM). Today, Norton is a leading, worldwide supplier of hot surface igniters for gas appliances. Norton igniters are AGA/CGA approved.
Norton's original 120V model is recognized as the industry standard for gas-fired appliances. Over the years, Norton has invested R&D and manufacturing resources to supply state-of-the-art igniters to the market it serves.
Norton igniters are made from either recrystallized silicon carbide or a high purity ceramic intermetallic composite. Norton's 120-V silicon carbide igniter delivers reliable ignition within 17-60 sec. depending upon the model. Norton's 12-, 24-, 120-, and 230-V Mini-Igniters are designed to have superior strength and speed (ignition time of approximately 3-7 sec) in a compact, low wattage assembly.
Norton's igniters are compatible with all control modules; no special control is needed to protect the igniter.
Norton igniters are made in the U.S. in two manufacturing plants located in Milford, NH.
