Lydall Performance Materials, Manchester, Conn., a division of Lydall Inc., has commissioned its needled fiber product operation located at its Green Island, N.Y., facility. This investment in growth gives Lydall a new manufacturing capability to enhance its portfolio of high performance appLY Mat needled glass mat products. These products were developed by Lydall to expand its high-temperature insulation product offering to serve global appliance OEMs. This product line is ideally suited for many application areas ranging from premium residential ovens and water heaters to commercial boilers.

The appLY Mat family of insulation products are glass fiber based, with various product categories designed to offer appliance OEMs a choice of temperature performance at a variety of one-ply thicknesses. These unique features impart robust handling characteristics to fabricated parts, which eases the speed of assembly on production lines.

"We are extremely excited about this new addition which expands the breadth of the product basket we offer to our customers. This capability furthers the continued development of new thermal and acoustic insulation innovations to support Lydall’s market expansion in the Appliance Industry," says Patricia Blanc, marketing director for Performance Materials.
